As we reflect on an incredible year at Money Hill, we’re filled with gratitude for our growing community and the memories we’ve made together. From welcoming new families to expanding our amenities and hosting unforgettable events, 2024 truly was a year to remember. Here’s a look back at some highlights—and a glimpse of what’s ahead in 2025!
Welcoming New Neighbors
Our beautiful community continues to grow! Construction began on 14 new homes in 2024, with 10 of those already completed. We’re excited to announce that in 2025, construction will begin on the first homes in Phase 9b, including The Woods and Shade Tree Court, adding even more charm to our neighborhood.
Community and Clubhouse Highlights
This year, the Money Hill Clubhouse was busier than ever, hosting a variety of unforgettable events and programs that brought our members together. Here are some highlights from a truly eventful year:
- Welcoming New Members: In 2024, we were thrilled to welcome 149 new members to the Money Hill community, a testament to our growth and vibrant lifestyle.
- Signature Dining and Events: Ron’s Wine of the Month program became a member favorite, and Ron and Chef Jim’s Wine Tastings grew so popular that we added additional dates. Sold-out events like Lobster Night, the Bourbon Tasting, and the Easter Sunday Brunch were a resounding success.
- Holiday and Family Traditions: From the Good Friday Seafood Buffet to the spectacular 4th of July Celebration with fireworks over the lake and the festive Santa’s Winter Wonderland, our holiday events brought joy to all ages.
- Exciting Firsts: 2024 marked the debut of several new traditions, including the Member Guest Champions Dinner and the Member Guest Pickleball Tournament, both of which were enthusiastically embraced by members and will now be annual fixtures.
- Community Fun and Connection: Events like Back-to-School Jackpot Bingo (featuring a $1,000 blackout prize!), Campout on the Course, and the Halloween Hayride for Trick or Treating kept our community buzzing with activity and connection.
- Veterans and Honorees: We were honored to host a Veterans Day Luncheon, featuring retired Captain Paul E. Dittman, USCG, and a special Medal of Honor Ceremony led by Charlton J. Meginley, Secretary of Louisiana Veterans Affairs.
Pickleball: A Thriving Community
2024 was a banner year for pickleball at Money Hill! This year, we celebrated the grand opening of our new 8-court pickleball complex, which quickly became a favorite gathering place for players of all levels.
Our pickleball community reached new heights with several milestones:
- We hosted our first-ever Money Hill Member-Guest Tournament, the most well-attended paddle event in our history.
- For the first time, we also hosted the SSA Guest Event Fundraiser, which was a tremendous success and is expected to return even bigger in 2025.
- Both of our pickleball teams brought home championships in the Intermediate and Advanced divisions of the inaugural Northshore Pickleball League.
- We held numerous holiday events and inter-club challenges throughout the year, creating plenty of opportunities for fun and camaraderie on the courts.
Looking ahead to 2025, we’re thrilled to announce our first-ever Signature Two-Day Pickleball Event this spring. Mark your calendars—it’s sure to be a can’t-miss experience for our players!
Clubhouse Renovations
We’re entering an exciting new chapter with a major clubhouse renovation set to begin in January 2025. The club renovation will focus on updates that elevate the experience for members and maintain the timeless, stately feel of the original “Prairie Style” made popular by American architect and designer, Frank Lloyd Wright and his belief that buildings should reflect the landscapes they are in.
Here’s what’s coming:
- A New Ballroom: Perfect for weddings, galas, and special events, this versatile space will elevate our hosting capabilities.
- Fresh Furniture and Fixtures: Stylish and cozy spaces for relaxing and socializing.
- Updated Locker Rooms and Restrooms: Designed for comfort and convenience.
- Upgraded Flooring: Enhancing the clubhouse’s beauty and durability.
- State-of-the-Art Kitchen: allowing us to better serve our members with an expanded menu and elevated dining experience,
We’re excited to break ground in January 2025, and we anticipate a grand reopening in May 2025. While we work hard to complete this project on time, we appreciate the patience and understanding of our members. Throughout the renovation, we will continue to keep you updated with progress and offer alternative solutions for club activities where necessary.
